Rangers take on their fiercest rivals in the Old Firm derby this afternoon and the Ibrox faithful have been discussing who Steven Gerrard might give the nod to start the game on social media.
Rangers fans will be hoping the club can maintain their unbeaten start to the season and take an early advantage in the hunt to win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
The game at Ibrox will undoubtedly be a tight affair, meaning Gerrard has some tough decisions to make regarding his Rangers starting line-up.
One decision that appears to be a cause for debate on Twitter is regarding Rangers’ use of Ianis Hagi.
The Romanian has been in and out of the starting XI in recent weeks and failed to start against both Ross County and Motherwell in Rangers last two domestic outings.
But despite his limited minutes the 21-year-old has been in fine form. Hagi has provided five assists in his last four games in the league, taking his overall tally to seven assists in 13 games this season.
Plenty of Rangers fans feel this is a reason for Gerrard to give Hagi the start against Celtic, especially after his immense performance against Rangers’ toughest opposition of the campaign so far, Galatasaray, in the Europa League earlier this month.
It would likely mean dropping Scott Arfield into a deeper role or Hagi playing out wide, instead of either Jordan Jones or Brandon Barker, but for many Rangers fans on Twitter, Hagi’s creative spark needs to be in the team from the start.
I agree, hagi is a must against Celtic his vision for a pass is exceptional

I get your point mate but Celtic have changed their system and with the 3-5-2 since we last played them so I absolutely think it’s a game for hagi, If we stick to our 4-2-3-1 with scotty playing his role from the past few weeks with hagi Kent we will hurt them

If there’s any truth that Christopher Jullien is out tomorrow and Celtic are starting Stephen Welsh at CB then we absolutely MUST start Ianis Hagi and go for it! Leave it all out there Rangers 🇬🇧

Hagi should start no matter who they play

Hagi plays for the big games so I’d prefer Hagi to start. Think he’ll have a masterclass tomorrow

That would be my team we need Hagi to start even tho been hot n cold but has most assists

Really don’t like Arfield higher up, main strength is runs from deep and smart link up play in middle.
I can see why Gerrard might revert but Hagi most creative player in the league and likes a big game so hope it’s that team.

I’m not too fussed if it’s Jack or Kamara, but really want Arfield in midfield and Hagi to play from the start.

Hagi to start for me mate 🇬🇧

For me it has to be Hagi to start and, if needed, bring on one of the other two in the second half.

A would start hagi n bring barker jones or even roofe on if he’s on the bench when the games stretched a think he’ll go for jacks physicality to play beside Davis n arfield a would be happy with either in midfield just think hagi would drag there new on infield n leave space
