Nottingham Forest face an anxious wait to see if their deal for West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki will be given the go-ahead.
The Reds had hoped to follow the arrival of Anthony Knockaert from Fulham with the arrival of the Polish wideman.
Both clubs had agreed on the deal, but according to reports surfacing on social media this evening, there is anxiety brewing as to whether the paperwork was filed on time.
Birmingham Live journalist Joe Edwards said: “Not expecting any announcements this evening re Grosicki.
“There’s uncertainty as to whether the relevant paperwork was submitted on time. Think we’ll find out tomorrow, one way or the other.”
Forest have completed the signing of Fulham winger Anthony Knockaert on loan until January.
The 28-year-old will now be reunited with manager Chris Hughton after the pair helped Brighton win promotion to the Premier League in 2016.
Knockaert is in the prime of his career and has extensive experience of success in the Championship, winning promotion with Leicester City and Fulham as well.
Coaching duo added
Chris Hughton has continued to add to his backroom staff at Nottingham Forest by adding two former Republic of Ireland international to his team.
Goalkeeping coach Nick Colgan joins from from Wigan Athletic while former West Brom midfielder Steven Reid has joined the Reds’ set-up as first-team coach.
Colgan enjoyed a fine playing career which spanned more than 20 years which saw him play for a number of clubs including Chelsea, Hibernian, Grimsby and Barnsley.
The 47-year-old had previously worked at Huddersfield Town’s academy before stepping up to the first team. He then left to join Wigan in 2017 and has now left the Latics for the Reds
Striker leaves on loan
Forest Under-23s striker Virgil Gomis has joined Grimsby Town on loan.
The 21-year-old has previously had loan spells with Notts County, Macclesfield and Braintree. Now he will spend the rest of the season in League Two with the Mariners.
“Hopefully he will bring what Danny has told me he is all about,” manager Ian Holloway told the Grimsby’s club website.
