Dinnertime update

Right, let’s have a look at where we stand.

So, we know that a striker is the priority for Neil Warnock today. He says there are six on his shortlist and is hopeful of getting one in before 5pm.

That’s at the forefront of his thoughts today.

Yannick Bolasie? Watch this space. Warnock wasn’t giving much away this morning, admitting that yes he likes him as a player and a bloke, but was coy on the chances of the Everton winger being a Boro player by the end of the day.

The Baba Rahman talk isn’t going away, with fresh reports from The Athletic today claiming a move to Watford is unlikely but the full-back “may still go to Middlesbrough”.

However, this morning Warnock distanced himself from wanting a defender, insisting his focus was on strengthening the front end of the pitch.

In terms of outgoings, the manager expects a couple – loan and permanent. We know Blackburn are in for Aynsley Pears. As for the loan, it’s likely to be a youngster who will benefit from regular football.

On we go. Just over five hours until the deadline.
