Beauty boost: Eva Mendes, 46, shared a shocking photo of herself with seven needles in her neck as she underwent a mono-threading procedure. The treatment involves sticking needled threads into the skin to aid in lifting and tightening
In the photo Eva can be seen laying on her back at a private spa in Beverly Hills as she undergoes the extreme-looking beauty treatment.
Designed to refresh the skin by activating the production of collagen, the mother of two was looking for a quick facial rejuvenation.
She captioned the photo: ‘Oye! (hey) This spa-home away from home is incredible!
‘No office with bad fluorescent lighting. No sterile office vibe. This is my go to for all things beauty. A home where you can relax while being tortured by the best of the best,’ as she plugged beauty expert Mariana Vergara and her spa Beauty Villa Vergara.
Rejuvenated: The procedure is targeted to specific points in the face and skin to help rejuvenate the face, as she gave a shout out to her spa Beauty Villa Vergara and shared that she was ‘excited’ to support a Latina owned business
WHAT IS MONO-THREADING?
It is an anti-aging treatment that lifts and tightens skin without the need for an invasive medical procedure.
Using threads made up of absorbable polydioxanone (PDO), this treatment provides the added benefit of promoting cellular renewal and neovascularisation.
Because threads are absorbable, the results of this treatment aren’t permanent.
Depending on lifestyle factors and how quickly the body metabolizes the threads, one can expect the threads to remain for approximately six to eight months.
The look will remain for an additional three to six months thanks to the power of cellular rejuvenation.

She continued, ‘This is my happy place! Here I am getting some Mono-Threads. Ayyyy Dios! I’ll update you with results if you care. So excited to support her as a skilled beauty technician opening her own Latina owned business! Pa’lante reina.’
Cuban by descent, Mendes was excited to support a fellow Latina as she promoted her business to her 2.4M followers.
Despite the Hitch actress being unafraid of the procedure, her social media fans were quick to vocalize their reservations about the extreme-looking beauty measures.
‘I’m in pain just looking at this picture,’ said one comment, with another user writing, ‘Hell nah.’
The Place Beyond The Pines actress is still partnered up with Hollywood hunk Ryan Gosling, 40.
The pair have been together since 2011.
They reportedly wed in secret but neither has ever confirmed this.
They share two children together, Esmeralda, six, and Amanda, four.
Speaking about Mendes in an interview Gosling shared, ‘I know that I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with…there’s nothing else I’m looking for.’
The couple are notoriously private about their relationship, only appearing together on the red carpet a few times.
