Arsenal transfer rumours: Emi Buendia price revealed, Gabriels role in Yves Bissouma chase – Football.London

Arsenal squeezed into the FA Cup fourth round with an extra-time victory over Newcastle United on Saturday evening.

It was their fourth win in succession and ends a positive run of performances and results that now sets Mikel Arteta’s team up for an encouraging second half of the season.

However, in the transfer market, there is still much work to be done, with a slew of players already having departed and more expected in the next two weeks.

Arsenal are also setting up potential targets, both for this month and in the summer, as they continue to retool the squad under Arteta’s guidance.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Emi Buendia price learned

Arsenal have been told how much they have to spend to prise Emiliano Buendia away from Norwich City, who are fervently chasing promotion from the Championship once again.

football.london understands that the Gunners have held long-term interest in the creative midfielder, scouting him on several occasions. However, reports state that they are yet to firm up their interest and make an official approach.

Should Arsenal make an offer for the 24-year-old, they will have to match Norwich’s £40million price tag, as reported by the Express.

Buendia has impressed in the Championship this season with seven goals and six assists thus far. He also ranked highly for chances created in last year’s Premier League campaign.

Napoli not a step up for Tierney

Napoli have been told that they are not a “bigger club” than Arsenal as they reignite interest in left-back Kieran Tierney, per recent reports.

The Telegraph claims that the Italian side, who battled with the Gunners for Tierney’s services in 2019, are once again monitoring Tierney’s form with a view to making a move this summer.

However, in their pursuit of the Scottish defender, former footballer Rodney Marsh has taken to Twitter to suggest that they will not be able to prise him out of north London.

In a reply to a Mail Online tweet reporting Napoli’s alleged interest in Tierney, Marsh replied: “Napoli are not a bigger club than Arsenal…”

Gabriel’s role in Bissouma interest

Gabriel Magalhaes is already playing his part in Arsenal’s attempts to sign Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, as football.london previously reported.

football.london understands that Arsenal are interested in the 24-year-old, who has also reportedly attracted admiration from Liverpool. Any move would have to wait until the summer transfer window, however.

And Arsenal’s potential pursuit of Bissouma could be aided by Gabriel’s presence in the squad. The Brazilian played with Bissouma at Lille and reportedly speaks regularly with his former teammate. Nicolas Pepe is also a former Lille teammate of the pair.

With Granit Xhaka facing an uncertain future and Dani Ceballos set to return to Madrid, Arsenal will need midfield reinforcements in the summer, and Bissouma is viewed as a potential option.
