Aston Villa will resume their Premier League campaign at Midlands rivals Leicester this weekend – and at the King Power Stadium they’ll be aiming for a fourth straight league win.
Villa, fresh from smashing champions Liverpool at Villa Park, have a perfect league record thus far this season, but in Leicester they face an opponent who they did not enjoy competing with last term.
Indeed the Foxes won comfortably in both league games, scoring four on each occasion, though Villa got the last laugh in the Carabao Cup semi-final tie.
Once their various internationals return from representing their countries, Villa will be hoping to pick up where they left off, with the confidence levels flying throughout the squad.
Leicester, who themselves put five past Manchester City recently, were surprisingly beaten by West Ham last time out – their supporters have been discussing the challenge that the Lions pose.
Leicester City fans on Aston Villa test
dayday : Obviously Villa will be up for this, and looking at their forum they are mostly a confident bunch.
Pliskin : I’m starting to sway more towards defeat in all honesty, there are few teams this season who I think we will really struggle to compete with. Villa’s style of play v Liverpool is one which is normally a nightmare for us
TK95 : Think we’ll do them. But it’s a tricky game and Watkins will have a go at our backline
Royston : Villa will be flying and have a go at us but that will suit us. Can’t imagine us playing as poorly as we did v West Ham ever again.
Why should you sign up?
Villa have made a promising start to the season after signing Ollie Watkins, Betrand Traore, Matty Cash, Emi Martinez and Ross Barkley. But there is still time to reshape the squad before the window closes at 6pm on Firday.

KFS : Think this one will be a classic bounce back to reality for both teams. We’ll be working hard to put last week right and in their elation, they’ll miss things and be overconfident. 2-1 Leicester for me.
Weller54 : 2-7 written all over it!
Grebfromgrebland : Dreading this one. Villa know how to beat us and probably will again unless Brendan changes it up.
adejo92 : We are more than capable of beating these so long as we turn up with the right attitude. We have shown time after time that when we turn up, we are more than capable of beating any team in the league, it’s the inconsistency that seems to be the ugly wart stuck to our club!
Naija Fox : We will smash these. They’re likely to be just as high as we were before the West Ham game only to come down to earth as we were after the West Ham game.
Mickyblueeyes : I’m worried. They have a good midfield but when fit, ours is better. It be interesting to see how things develop this week with injuries etc. A fully fit Leicester City is better then a fully fit AV.
Saxondale : I think Villa have played a blinder signing Barkley – him and Grealish together is a serious proposition.
Ric Flair : They are a different beast now though with some very good signings but we play our preferred formation and don’t make horrific defensive blunders and we should have too much for them to deal with.
Bert : Let’s not fear them! We have more than enough to beat them
